Synopsis

Whenever you write stories, you imagine the characters’ faces and their dialogs resonate in your mind. Everyone says that I always describe the characters’ tones of voice in my stories. I’ve been given some lovely praise: “These stories are very theatrical.”

But I never imagined all the theater could offer. And then I got the chance to find out. In the theater. Some women I admire, a company I admire, and a director I admire decide that all these characters (who lack charisma and grace and are really rather comical) are going to be presented on stage. I’ll be able to “see” and “hear” them.

A writer is always influenced by other writers, of course, but also by many other things in life. By a painting she has seen, by someone she has loved, by a wine she has drunk, by a song she has heard. I can say that Dagoll Dagom, T de Teatre and La Brutal have influenced my life: some of their plays have left me literally touched. I’ve emerged singing and wanting to hug strangers.

We have chosen the most amusing stories (and a couple sad ones, too– it couldn’t be helped). I hope my obsessions are yours, as well. I’d like it if after seeing the play – those of us who are not guild members always say “play” and not “show” – you also want to sing and hug strangers (including me).
