After the gratifying experience of Nelly Blue, T de Teatre and Los Tigres (Xavi Mira and Albert Ribalta) returned to present a new musical comedy entitled Operación Moldavia.
A millionaire scrap dealer from Moldavia wants to celebrate his mother’s 100th birthday with a performance by her old idol: a famous Spanish singer, known all over the world, but who has not performed for more than fifteen years. By chance, this information reaches Carlos Gardel, a former stand-up comedian, actors’ agent and professional fraudster, who contacts his former partner, Toni Llorenç, a drag queen and companion on stage and in scams. Toni just got out of jail, after serving two years for messing up the last sting organized by his partner, Gardel, and he’s about to drown in debt. These two tricksters have decided to adopt the identity of the famous singer and go to Moldavia to perform, relying on their talent to get the money that would change their lives.
While waiting for the arrival of the flight that will take them to Moldavia, the two swindlers figure out the sting that will make them rich, polishing every detail and sharing memories of the old days at the cabaret. Meanwhile, the threat of the small mob collecting Toni’s gambling debts, his ex-wife and a thousand more problems hover over them, like the planes that come and go.
Operación Moldovia, a musical comedy that combines humour, songs and a plot of intrigue. Starting with their preparation of a scam and an unexpected wait, we will have the opportunity to meet these two unique characters and share their past in the world of cabaret, through monologues and songs that will transport us like flashbacks to different moments of their lives.
